Multiplayer Facilities
Dedicated servers host multiplayer games, taking the load off gamers who would otherwise struggle with multiple players over a personal internet connection. These server-based gaming systems run automatically, and are managed by a game maker or company that has full control over the hardware.
Those servers need to be powerful enough to manage a number of connected gamers at once. That’s why the hardware requirements for a multiplayer game are generally more demanding than those for a single-player one.
SCP: Containment Breach
This is a free-to-play multiplayer survival horror game based on stories in the SCP Foundation Wiki. The game features a co-op containment breach where players are SCP entities, but also a separate multiplayer breach mode that allows up to 64 players to play as staff/anomalous entities and experience the breach from different perspectives. All of this requires a good chunk of dedicated server hardware to handle all of the connections, and frequent updates for new content.
